About Born To Sing
Since its inception in 2008, Born To Sing has raised over $250,000 to donate to various charitable causes such as survivors of bushfires, Cancer Council Relay For Life, Red Cross Blood Bank, Mission Australia and Variety – the Children’s Charity.
The choir’s repertoire includes gospel, 60’s & 70’s, uplifting songs and short classical pieces. Songs include Africa, All You Need Is Love, Beyond The Sea, Bohemian Rhapsody, Dancing Queen, Delilah, the Hallelujah Chorus, I Am Australian, I Still Call Australia Home, Imagine, Silly Love Songs, Stand By Me, Unchained Melody, We Are The Champions, You Raise Me Up.
Born to Sing has performed at The Perth Fringe Festival, for the Australian Army Nurses, Guildford Songfest, Dunsborough Songfest, Carols By Candlelight with the Variety Youth Choir at Langley Park to an audience of over 20,000.
In 2018, we performed four-sell out concerts at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Our aim with performances is to give choir members a unique experience. For example, each year, we sail off to Rottnest Island for a weekend of singing and wonderful socialising.
The choirs rehearse in Bicton, Joondalup and Rockingham. Born To Sing choirs (200 singers in total with an age range of between 18 & 90) welcome all non-singers, shower singers, park singers, car singers, air guitar singers and actual singers. The choirs sing songs from the heart that make you feel good, raise self-esteem and help you lose the blues.
In 2023, we created the Born To Sing 1,000 Voice Choir that performed a wonderful sell-out concert at the Perth Concert Hall. We are now in the planning stages to create another 1,000 Voice Choir in 2025.
