This is the mixed Born To Sing choirs joining together to give back as a part of the commemoration of Australian Army Nurses who did not survive through the years of imprisonment in Indonesia during the Second World War. We have been performing at this event for the past 10 years.
*Friday, March 11th (11.00-12noon), Morning Melodies - Kwinana (Koorliny) - B.T.S. Rockingham.
Koorliny Arts Centre present a monthly Morning Melodies and in March they have invited the Rockingham Born To Sing choir to perform. The choir will sing well known songs for an audience of approximately 250 people. *Saturday, March 26th (7.00-9.00pm) - Merredin Concert
The Merriden Choir, "Achoired Taste", are collaborating with Born To Sing to give a concert at the fabulous Cummins Theatre in Merriden. Achoired Taste and Cummins Theatre will be selling tickets to the concert which will be available at the Cummins Theatre Box Office. We are currently putting together a billeting list for our interested choir members. Watch this space!
*Saturday, June 25th, (7.00-9.00pm) - Mount Pleasant Baptist Church Concert.
At this concert, we will be supporting the charity called CHORUS. CHORUS has a team of more than 1000 staff and volunteers who provide healthy meals for in-home and community support to more than 10,000 people across metro and regional W.A. Ticket prices will be $25 standard /$18 concession and after costs, all proceeds will go to supporting CHORUS and the amazing work that they do. The concert will feature a Jazz Band with a horn section and lead singer and then the band will be supporting the Born To Sing choir for the second half.
*Sunday, August 21st, (2.00-4.00pm) - BTS Variety Show, Lyric Lane/Lyric's Underground.
This is a yearly event whereby Born To Sing members take to the stage with a variety of performances. This event usually sells out and this year will be held at the fantastic Lyric Lane Underground, 22 Lyric Lane, Maylands.
*Friday, October 14th-16th - Born To Sing Rottnest Island Music Festival.
This weekend is a fantastic way for choir members to enjoy each other’s company as well as sing in unusual places. Born To Sing have been asked to perform at various locations on Rottnest Island (including in and outside of the Dome, main area in the shopping precinct, Geordie Bay, Pinkys and The Basin).We will sing as a large choir and in small groups, solos, duos etc. Rottnest Island Authority will provide some discounts (ferry and island entry fee), including equipment and transport around the island to the different locations. We will get a special Born To Sing Rottnest Island Music Festival T-Shirt made for this weekend and profits from the sales will go to help costs incurred for the experience.
*Saturday, December 3rd - Rockingham Carols Parade
Celebrate Christmas at the Rockingham Foreshore. From colourful Christmas lights, to fun Christmas children's craft activities, the Christmas Street Parade, Santa photos, Christmas present shopping at the market stalls, Christmas carols and much more!
*Saturday, December 17th, (7.00-9.00pm) - Woodvale Carols Concert
Carols by Candlelight at Woodvale Baptist Church singing Carols and uplifting songs to an audience of over 500!
